Education Program

Since 2007 the Community Seva Centre is running a Nursery and Primary School for 120 students and a High School for 97 students. They are located in Thalvenniyur in Kalvarayan hills in Villupuram district in Tamil Nadu. The schools educate children from a poverty affected background on Lower and Upper Kindergarten, from 1st to 5th standard and 6th to 8th standard. Additionally the CSC founded the Seva Matriculation School in Pulavapady for 200 students in 2013.

Lessons are mainly hold in English. The goal of the Seva Matriculation School is to prepare its students for their follow up education at Higher Secondary School and their following careers. The students are provided with uniforms, books, and teaching material such as sports material and science equipments. The CSC also facilitates extracurricular activities for example Educational Tours, a Tuition centre and an Annual Day celebration for the children. By organizing regular summer camps for children where they can express their hidden talents and realize their own ideas and events, the CSC support s the personal development of the children. Moreover, 10 Children's Clubs were set up where children discuss about child empowerment and child rights as stated by the UN.

To ensure a positive long term development the children are offered life skill education programs and health checkups. In order to improve the quality of the education and empathy of the teachers, capacity building trainings are held for the school staff. The schools are financed by our partner S'apre – onlus .


Seva Pre School

The nurseries managed by CSC were created to take care of the development and education of children aged between 1 and 5 years and to offer working parents a free assistance service.
Community Seva Centre is a social service organization serving for the poorest of the poor in the villages of Thalvenniyur, Kalvarayan hills, Tamil nadu and Pondicherry UT since 1993, covering nearly 64 surrounding villages. We are working for child development from 0-19 Yrs, Immunization, nutrition, breast feeding, pre-natal and post-natal care are given for mother and child.
Community Seva Centre is running 5 creche center with the aid of Central and State Social Welfare Board for the sake of Health and Education for under 5 children since 2004. Through this program 125 children’s are benefiting through education and regular supplementary feeding.



About State Social Welfare Board

A total of 33 State Social Welfare Board are functioning in each state capital and union territory of the country with an object to implement various schemes for the welfare and development of women and children through registered voluntary organisations. The State Board is headed by a non-official Chairperson who is a renowned woman social worker of the State. The State Board Members are nominated on the Board by Central Board and State Government in the ratio of 50:50. These Members normally represent each district of the State.

Matriculation School

To help students along with realizing their plans for the future, the CSC supports their higher education. Since 2013, 250 students have Studying the Seva Matriculation School in Puluvapady. By successfully completing their education here, the students qualify to go on to higher secondary school and therefore university. The lessons are mainly conducted in English.
